In numerology you have a life purpose, which is your spiritual job description for this lifetime. It's the sum of your DOB reduced to a number between 1 and 9. Numbers 11, 22, 33 and 44 are not reduced as they are master numbers (double responsibility).
When we buy a plant we read the instructions - we even do this with toys, so it makes sense to research your soul's needs too.
Knowing who you are makes the difference between surviving and thriving in life. The most successful people I know use intuition to make decisions. After all, if you follow the crowd, you'll get average results. It takes courage to excel.
Once you know your life purpose, you can pick jobs, relationships, even houses that suit you perfectly. I recommend choosing a house that's compatible with your lifepath and desires (see below).
Generally speaking, odd number lifepaths (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) do better in odd numbered houses. Even number lifepaths (2, 4, 6, 8, 11, 22, 33, 44) do better in even numbered houses. However you need to combine logic with instinct.
Realistically, a numerologist would look at your name and yearly forecast before matching you to a house. I also take into account the street name and suburb, but for brevity's sake we'll stick with house numbers today.
To find your house number, simply reduce its address digits to a number between 1-9. For example apartment 34/ 5 Brown Street becomes 3+4+5 = a 12/3 address.
If it adds to a double number e.g. 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66 do not reduce it further as it's a master number.
What Your House Number Means (aka Address Numerology)
Number 1 house
Pros: Promotes independence and is great for people looking for a fresh start.
Cons: Increases power struggles if people are already distant. You will be constantly busy. I often see 1 houses up for rent as not every one can cope with their fast pace (or in some cases, exposed location).
As an aside: The numbers 13, 14, 16 and 19 are called karmic in numerology because they bring a 'debt' with them. A number 19 house will bring out your survival instinct and you'll be tested on your leadership skills living here. A number 55 house demands integrity and is great for 'mover and shaker' types.
Number 2 house
Pros: Encourages intimacy, creativity and patience. Live here if you want peace and quiet.
Cons: You'll become too passive if you're shy or indecisive. Hoarding is favoured.
Note: Living in a master 11 house promotes personal growth and justice. You might join a charity or start a feel-good business living here. Criminals who live at an 11 address are always found out!
Number 3 house
Pros: Ideal for gatherings, raising children and open communication. 3 is a lucky number.
Cons: Not the cleanest house, or the best for discipline. Gossip can backfire in a 3 house.
Note: Living in a 12 or 66 house can promote martyrdom, but also cooperative ventures.
Number 4 house
Pros: Somewhere you can feel safe and secure. Encourages commitment.
Cons: Can make you more inflexible and conservative.
Note: Living in a karmic 13 house makes work a priority. Promises must be kept. Living in a master 22 house increases your negotiation skills and improves teamwork.
Number 5 house
Pros: Amazing for travellers, night owls, gypsies and forever-young types.
Cons: I see these houses up for rent more than any other house number. They are better for extroverts.
Note: Living in a karmic 14 house requires good health practices, otherwise addictions can get out of hand.
Number 6 house
Pros: Often beautiful, excellent for families, pets and home businesses. A nest.
Cons: You might worry about appearances living here. Gardens require more upkeep.
Note: Living in a master 33 house will attract magic into your life. You'll be drawn to spiritual groups and idealistic pursuits.
Number 7 house
Pros: Excellent for nature-lovers and those who need personal space. These houses are often set back from the road or have plenty of tree cover. Teaching and writing are stimulated.
Cons: 7 is the hermit energy, so don't live here if you hate being single. However established couples (or people with strong 7 energy) can find joy at a 7 address.
Note: Being in a karmic 16 house can be a challenge. You'll need to learn forgiveness and kindness living here.
Number 8 house
Pros: This is the money number in China. Associated with good returns over the long-term. Brings power to the owner.
Cons: You can't cut corners in an 8 house - 8 is like an infinity symbol showing that, what goes around comes around. Cheapskates be warned! You must look after this house. Don't scrimp on insurance.
Note: Living in a 44/8 house is not for the faint hearted. It's often a military or rules-based household. On the plus side, it's also provides a stable home base.
Number 9 house
Pros: Everyone feels welcome here. A dreamy space. Great for international or diverse residents, e.g. mixed families.
Cons: Guests get so cosy that they leave things behind. You'll need to have regular garage sales! Can feel a bit serious.
Some people say that you can change your house number to a more favourable energy by placing a number inside the front door, or getting the address rezoned (e.g. making 6 into 6a). This is not my area of experience, so you could talk to a local feng shui expert. I'm more into personal readings.
